Gypsum Powder Processing: Equipment and Techniques

What is gypsum ore?

View Details

Gypsum ore refers to the mineral form of calcium sulfate dihydrate, which is commonly found in nature. It is a sedimentary rock that is typically composed of gypsum along with impurities and other minerals. Gypsum ore is mined from deposits in various parts of the world.

Gypsum ore is the raw material used for the production of gypsum products, including gypsum powder, plaster, and gypsum board. The ore is processed to remove impurities and convert it into a usable form.

Gypsum production line

According to the process requirements, the construction gypsum production line is usually divided into five parts, namely crushing system, grinding system, calcining system, and material storage and conveying system. FTM Machinery has the answer for you.

1. Crushing system

The gypsum raw material enters the crusher through the feeder, and the crusher breaks the large-sized gypsum ore into small particles smaller than 30mm.

Crushing gypsum

According to the size of gypsum raw materials and different output requirements, you can choose a gypsum crusher with corresponding specifications, usually PE jaw crusher, PC hammer crusher or PF impact crusher, etc.

In order to protect the clean environment, it can be equipped with dust removal equipment to meet environmental protection emission requirements.

2. Material conveying

The crushed gypsum raw material is transported to the storage bin by the elevator for standby. The storage bin is designed according to the requirements for material storage time to ensure a stable supply of materials.

At the same time, each part of the material turnover uses a hoist to reduce the floor space.

3. Grinding system

The gypsum raw material in the storage bin enters a mill machine or ball mill through the vibrating feeder for finishing.

Grinding gypsum

The material is evenly and continuously fed into the mill by the electromagnetic vibrating feeder for grinding. Grinded raw gypsum powder is blown out by the air blown by the mill blower, and is classified by the analyzer above the main machine.

The powder whose fineness meets the specifications enters the large cyclone collector with the wind flow, and after being collected, it is discharged through the powder outlet pipe to become the finished product.

The material passed through the grinding system is changed from a particle size of 0-30mm to 80-120 mesh, which meets the fineness requirements of gypsum powder.

4. Calcination system

The raw powder delivered from the grinding system is delivered to the calciner for calcination. The calcined cooked powder is transported by the elevator to the finished product warehouse for standby.

The system mainly includes hoist, calciner, electrostatic precipitator and other equipment.

Conclusion

In summary, to grind gypsum into a fine powder, the process typically involves crushing the raw gypsum, grinding it in a mill, classifying the powder, and calcined it. The fineness of the gypsum powder can also be controlled by adjusting the grinding mill settings.
