The fire protection time of ordinary tempered glass is generally about 15-20 minutes, while the fire protection time of tempered glass with special fire protection treatment can reach 30-120 minutes.
The difference between tempered glass and fireproof glass
Production process: Tempered glass is made by heating ordinary glass to close to the softening point and then cooling it quickly, mainly to improve its strength and safety; while fire-resistant glass is processed through a special process to maintain integrity and insulation at high temperatures.
Performance difference: Tempered glass mainly relies on its high strength and impact resistance to improve safety, but it does not have fire resistance; fire-resistant glass has good fire resistance and can prevent the spread of fire and smoke within a certain period of time.
Application scenarios: Tempered glass is widely used in doors, windows, curtain walls, etc. of buildings; while fire-resistant glass is mainly used in fire-resistant partitions, fire-resistant doors and windows of buildings, etc., in places with high fire protection requirements.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Tempered Glass
Advantages: high mechanical strength, good elasticity, good thermal stability, not easy to hurt people after being broken.
Disadvantages: Cannot be cut, ground, and must be customized.
